I was very nervous to begin this project, as this was the first time that I wouldn’t have the files and specs generated from the Learn environment. However, I was also very excited to build a program from scratch.
After about 6 screen shares with the wonderful technical coaches here and one long night of swearing my future children will never learn to play the game, I have finally finished my ‘Tic Tac Toe with AI’ lab and it feels good.
In order to wrap my mind around object orientation, I have been thinking a lot about programming in terms of metaphors. This has been particularly helpful when trying to distinguish between class variables and instance variables.
Maybe a lot has changed in the past few years (probably not), or maybe I wasn’t paying enough attention in my college web development class (probably), but I don’t remember being able to get so specific with my CSS selectors - and well, it’s pretty cool.
I took a career aptitude test in high school. My top two results were botanist and screen writer. All I knew about botany was what Mr. Belding taught his class about pruning Bonsai trees. Screen writing just didn’t seem like a good fit.
